NC State tight end Dante Daniels was selected this evening by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft.

Winnipeg made an aggressive move to land Daniels, trading up to secure the top-10 selection.

For Daniels, the moment carries added significance. He’s heading back home to Canada. A native of Windsor, Ontario, Daniels began his collegiate career at Butler Community College before transferring to NC State ahead of the 2024 season.

Daniels had been pursuing an additional year of eligibility to return to Raleigh, but that request was ultimately not granted.

This past Fall, Daniels appeared in all 13 games, recording 7 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown for the Wolfpack.

While the stat line was modest, his impact was reflected in the advanced metrics. Daniels posted an 81.6 overall PFF grade, the highest mark on NC State’s offense among players with 200+ snaps.

Now, he heads to Winnipeg as a top-10 pick with a chance to make an immediate impact at the professional level in his home country.
