2027 athlete Lance Henderson (5’11”, 195 pounds) confirmed that he is on an official visit to NC State this weekend.

Henderson is on campus alongside his Southern High School teammate Jonathan Dillon, giving the Wolfpack staff a chance to host two priority in-state targets at the same time.

Henderson is a consensus 3-star prospect, with ESPN ranking him as the No. 21 overall player in North Carolina in the 2027 recruiting class.

NC State offered Henderson on January 25 of last year, and he has since picked up an impressive list of offers, including Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Louisville, Indiana, UNC, Wake Forest, Kentucky, and others.

On April 25, Henderson narrowed his recruitment to a Final Four of NC State, Duke, Virginia Tech, and Kentucky. He also has official visits scheduled with both Duke and Virginia Tech.

On the field, Henderson has proven to be a true two-way playmaker.

Defensively, he recorded 88 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4 forced fumbles. Offensively, he totaled 33 receptions for 919 yards and 7 touchdowns, while also rushing for 311 yards (13.5 yards per carry) and 2 scores.

With his versatility and production, Henderson has become one of the more intriguing in-state prospects in the 2027 cycle.

At this stage, momentum appears to be trending toward NC State, with projections from insiders at Rivals and 247Sports pointing in the Wolfpack’s direction.
