The No. 8 seeded NC State Wolfpack women’s tennis is headed back to the Elite Eight.

NC State will face No. 1 seed Georgia today at 4 p.m. with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

The Wolfpack continue to establish themselves as one of the premier programs in college tennis, advancing to:

The Elite Eight four times in the last six seasons
The Sweet 16 in each of their last seven NCAA Tournaments

Entering Hot

NC State enters today’s matchup playing some of its best tennis of the season.

The Wolfpack have won six straight matches, including a remarkable ACC Tournament run where they defeated Cal, UNC and #1 seed Virginia to capture just the second ACC Championship in school history (The first came in 2023.).

In NCAA Tournament play, NC State advanced past Morgan State, UCF and #9 seed Texas to reach the national quarterfinals.

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for the Wolfpack.

Back in 2023, NC State advanced all the way to the National Championship match before falling to No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels women’s tennis 4-1.

Earnshaw Continues Building Powerhouse

Head coach Simon Earnshaw was named ACC Coach of the Year this season.

It marks the third time in 12 seasons he has earned the honor:

2019
2023
2026

Under Earnshaw, NC State has transformed into a legitimate national contender year after year.

Key Wolfpack Standouts

Mia Slama

Sophomore Mia Slama earned First Team All-ACC honors while serving as NC State’s No. 1 singles player.

Current singles record: 25-11

Gabriella Broadfoot & Victoria Osuigwe

The doubles duo of Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe earned First Team All-ACC honors and currently rank 3rd nationally.

Their 34-7 record is tied for the sixth-most doubles wins in a single season in program history.

Broadfoot also earned Third Team All-ACC honors individually with a 26-11 singles record. She earned 1st Team All-ACC honors in doubles last year as well.

Anna Zyryanova

Senior Anna Zyryanova earned Second Team All-ACC honors after posting a 25-9 singles record.

This marks her second career All-ACC selection (3rd Team in 2024).

Lavinia Tanasie

Freshman Lavinia Tanasie may not have earned All-ACC honors, but her production has been elite.

Tanasie enters today’s match with 33-8 singles record, which is tied for the second-most singles wins in a season in NC State history.

Not bad for a freshman playing mostly at the No. 4 singles spot.
