No one has been talking about NC State being a major contender for the services of 2015 4-star Small Forward Maverick Rowan, but they just keep sticking around. First they were in his Top-6, then his Top-4, and tonight Rowan revealed that the Wolfpack are in his Final 3.

Rowan spoke with Scout’s Evan Daniels, and he told him that he has trimmed his list down to St. John’s, Wisconsin and NC State.

“I got to take my last two visits to Wisconsin and N.C. State and hopefully I make my decision sometime in August after I finish my courses,” Rowan said.  ““It’s pretty much down to those three.” (Via Scout)

Prior to Rowan’s recent visit to St. John’s, a lot of recruiting analysts had him as a Louisville lean, but after tonight the Cardinals have been officially nixed from the list.  Also, you have to wonder if the announcement that legendary Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan will be retiring after the upcoming season lowers the appeal of the Badgers for Rowan.

When we spoke with Rowan, he said he wasn’t sure if he would take an official to Raleigh, since he has already taken an unofficial here, but it looks like he plans on coming back for an official visit.

He also holds offers from Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Providence, Auburn, Rutgers, Illinois, Texas A&M, Mississippi St, Wake Forest, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Arizona St, Kansas, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, and others.

As far as I can tell, Howard doesn’t hold an offer from NC State at this point.

Published

2024 4-Star Shooting Guard Paul McNeil (6’6″/185) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State next weekend.

ESPN ranks McNeil as the #17 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class, and the #2 player in the state of North Carolina. I don’t understand how recruiting databases work, but at some point this year he will be a 5-star player according to ESPN as long as he stays in the Top-25.

McNeil plays for Richmond Senior in Rockingham, North Carolina.

This is huge for NC State to get a player of McNeil’s caliber to come in for an Official Visit this early in the process.
