Last night former NC shortstop Trea Turner stole the first base of his major league career.  In the eighth inning, Turner entered the game as a pinch runner for catcher Wilson Ramos, and picked up the steal to put a runner on second with one out.

Turner is the all-time steals leader in NC State history with 113.  He is tied for the ACC record for most steals in a single game with 5.

Even though Turner is still 0-9 from the plate in the Majors, he has been exceptional on the field.  In 13.1 innings (10.2 at 2nd base/2.2 at Shortstop) he has a perfect fielding percentage, with 4 putouts, 7 assists, and 2 double plays.
