Arizona Hires Justin Gainey as Assistant Coach
Former NC State point guard Justin Gainey has been hired as an assistant coach at Arizona.
After leaving NC State, Gainey played professionally for three years overseas and in the states. He then served on staff at NC State as Director of Basketball Operations and Administrative Director for 3 years (06-09). Then in 2009-10 Gainey was an assistant coach at Appalachian State, before spending the next seasons as an assistant at Elon (2010-14).
His next stop was at Marquette as the Director of Operations, a role in which he served for 3 years.
Last season be reunited with his former coach, serving as an assistant coach under Herb Sendek at Santa Clara.
