NC State’s NFL 2018 Preseason Week 2 Report: 8/16/18

Week 2 of the NFL Preseason kicked off last night, and 5 former NC State players were represented.

Packers 51 Steelers 34

RB Jaylen Samuels (Rookie) scored his first NFL touchdown last night for the Steelers, running up the middle for a 1-yard score.

On the night, Jay Sam had 9 carries for 38 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had 3 receptions (4 targets) for 13 yards.

Safety Josh Jones (2nd Year) had one tackle for the Packers.

Redskins 15 Jets 13

Linebacker Jerod Fernandez (Rookie) shined once again in his second preseason game for the Redskins. After going undrafted, Fernandez was signed to a free agent deal, and he is doing everything he can to make the final roster. After recording 6 tackles in the 1st preseason game, he collected 6 more last night against the Jets. On top of that, he also racked up two sacks.

Cornerback Juston Burris (3rd Year) sat out with an injury for the second consecutive week for the Jets.

Patriots 37 Eagles 20

Joe Thuney (3rd Year) , as usual, started at Offensive Tackle for the Patriots. He has started every regular season game in his first two seasons.
