Pack Pros: NFL Week 4 Report

This past weekend was the 4th week of the 2022 NFL season. Below is a breakdown of how the 19 former NC State players on NFL rosters did.

Quarterback Russell Wilson had his best game since joining the Broncos, going 17/25 for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns (0 interceptions) in Denver’s 23-32 loss to the Las Vegas. He also rushed the ball 4 times for 29 yards and a touchdown.

Linebacker Germaine Pratt led the Bengals in tackles, with 9, in their 27-15 victory over the Dolphins on Thursday night Football.

Defensive Tackle Justin Jones had 6 tackles and 2 tackles for loss in Chicago’s 12-20 loss to the New York Giants.

Defensive Tackle B.J. Hill had 5 tackles, 1 pass deflection and 2 QB Hits in the Bengals’ 27-15 victory over the Dolphins on Thursday night football.

Defensive Tackle Kentavius Street had 2 tackles, 1 sack and 2 QB Hits in the Saints’ 25-28 loss to the Vikings in London.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett was 21/35 for 234 yards and an interception in Cleveland’s 20-23 loss to Atlanta. He also rushed the ball 5 times for 16 yards and a touchdown.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling had 3 receptions for 63 yards in Kansas City’s 41-31 win over Tampa Bay.

Defensive End James Smith-Williams had 1 tackle and 1 QB hit in the Commanders’ 10-25 loss to the Cowboys.

Linebacker Bradley Chubb had 3 tackles and 1 pass deflection in the Broncos’ 23-32 loss to the Raiders.

Defensive Tackle Alim McNeil had 2 tackles an 1 tackle for loss in the Lions’ 45-48 loss to the Seahawks.

Safety Josh Jones had 2 tackles and 1 pass deflection in Seattle’s 48-45 win over Detroit.

Running Back Nyheim Hines rushed the ball 1 time for 0 yards, and caught 2 passes for 3 yards in the Colts’ 17-24 loss to the Titans. He also had 2 punt returns for an average of 10.0 yards.

Punter A.J. Cole punted the ball 4 times for an average of 53.8 yards in the Raiders’ 32-23 victory over the Broncos.

Punter Trenton Gill punted the ball 5 times for an average of 52.8 yards in the Bears’ 12-20 loss to the Giants.

Center Garrett Bradbury (Vikings), Guard Joe Thuney (Chiefs) and Tackle Ikem Ekwonu all started for their respective teams on Sunday.

NC State’s Trea Turner is En Fuego Heading into WBC Championship

Former NC State All-American Shortstop Trea Turner has been en fuego representing the United States in the World Baseball Classic. He has helped lead the United States to the finals against Japan, which begins tonight at 7pm.

Turner currently is batting .368 through 5 games. Four of his seven hits have been home runs, which leads all batters in the World Baseball Classic.

Former NC State C Garrett Bradbury Signs 3-Year Deal with the Vikings

Former NC State All-American Center Garrett Bradbury has re-signed with the Vikings on a 3-year deal worth $15.75 million.

Bradbury just wrapped up his 4-year Rookie contract worth $13 million. The Vikings decided not to pick up his 5th year option prior to last season, but they decided to go ahead and re-sign Bradbury, who has been their starter since entering the league.

Former NC State WR Jakobi Meyers Signs 3-Year Deal with Las Vegas

Former NC State Wide Receiver Jakobi Meyers got paid yesterday, signing a 3-year deal with the Raiders worth $33 million, with $21 million of it guaranteed.

After going undrafted, Meyers signed with New England, and has been with the Pats the past 4 seasons. Last year was the first year that Meyers made over $1 million, earning $3.986 million on a 1-year contract. Now he will average $11 million a season over the next three years in Vegas.

Over 4 seasons, Meyers has 235 receptions for 2,758 yards and 8 touchdown receptions. Meyers earned this pay day, leading the Pats in receiving yards for the past three seasons consecutively.

Former NC State LB Germaine Pratt Signs 3-Year Deal with Bengals

Former NC State Linebacker Germaine Pratt is going to be staying in Cincy, signing a 3-year contract with the Bengals worth $21 million.

Pratt just wrapped up his 4th season in the NFL, which was his best, tallying 99 tackles, 10 pass deflections and 2 interceptions.

The Bengals drafted Pratt in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Pratt was the 11th highest graded Linebacker in the NFL last seasons, and the 3rd highest in the AFC, posting a grade of 78.4 according to ProFootballFocus.

Former NC State Defensive Tackle BJ Hill, who has been a teammate with Pratt on Cincy the past two seasons, said he would go bald if Pratt re-signed.

The Bengals then trolled Hill, asking when the head was getting shaved.
