#8 NC State Wrestling Defeats Lock Haven & #17 Nebraska Up in PA

The 8th ranked NC State Wrestling Team won both of their duals up in Pennsylvania today, defeating Lock Haven 32-4, and #17 Nebraska 23-10.

NC State Has a Lot to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from Pack Insider!

I thought I’d take a moment to list off a few things NC State fans have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

  • The Football team is 8-3 with two games left on the schedule, and are currently ranked 22nd in the CFP Poll.
    • They were picked by Vegas to have 6.5 wins in 2023.
    • They were picked to finish 4th in the Preseason ACC Poll.
      • If they win on Saturday against UNC, they will lock up 3rd.
  • The Women’s Basketball team started the season unranked, but after a 4-0 start, which included a win over a UCONN team that was ranked 2nd at the time, the Wolfpack is back up to #10 heading into 3 games this week at the Paradise Jam.
  • The Women’s Cross Country team won their 3rd straight National Championship.
  • The Men’s Basketball team is 3-0 heading into the Vegas Showdown tonight.
  • The Men’s Cross Country team finished 17th at the NCAA Championships.
  • The Women’s Volleyball team improved to 22-7 last night, wrapping up the regular season with a win over UVA.
  • The NC State Men’s Wrestling team is currently ranked 2nd in the nation, and 6 wrestlers are currently ranked in the Top-10 nationally.

#6 NC State Wrestling Crushed Binghamton 36-3 Over the Weekend

NC State’s 6th ranked Wrestling team was back in action this weekend, crushing Binghamton 36-3. The Wolfpack are now 9-0 this year in duals.

NC State Coach Popolizio is now 4-0 in duals against Binghamton, who he coached from 2007-12.

Hidlay and Trephan both picked up ranked wins.

NC State Defeats Northern Iowa to Win the Journeyman Collegiate Duals

After defeating #25 Cal-Poly and #19 Lehigh on Monday, the NC State Wrestling team advanced to the finals of the Journeyman Collegiate Duals against #19 Northern Iowa.

On Tuesday night, the #7 Wolfpack defeated #22 Northern Iowa 22-12 to take home the trophy, beating the Panthers for the first time ever.

#7 NC State Wrestling Picks Up Two Top-25 Dual Wins on Opening Day of Journeyman Collegiate Duals

The 7th ranked NC State Wrestling Team won both of their duals last night at the Journeyman Collegiate Duals in New Orleans, both coming against Top-25 teams.

In the opening match, the Wolfpack defeated #25 Cal-Poly convincingly, to the tune of 33-3.

In the next dual, NC State beat #19 Lehigh 24-10. This marks the first time the Wolfpack has ever beaten Lehigh, going 0-10 against them in a series dating back to 1976.

NC State is now 7-0 in duals this year, and will face #19 Northern Iowa in the Championship at 5pm. The Wolfpack have never defeated Northern Iowa in a dual, going 0-5 agains the Panthers.
