Former NC State Quarterback Brennan Armstrong has signed with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.

The Lions went 12-6 last season, finishing 2nd in the West Division of the CFL, clinching a playoff berth. They defeated the Calgary Stampeders 41-30 in the Division Semifinals, and then lost to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 24-13 in the Division Finals.

Armstrong forever earned the respect of Wolfpack fans for the way he persevered last season. After struggling as the starter in the first 5 games of the season, MJ Morris replaced him, but that didn’t stop Armstrong from keeping his head up, and leading as a captain of the team. In a strange turn of events, Morris decided after 4 games that he was done for the year, opting to redshirt the season. As a result, Armstrong was back as the starter. The time off helped him recalibrate. Armstrong led the Wolfpack to 3 consecutive wins to close out the regular season.

When it was all said and done, Armstrong threw for 1,785 yards (61.1%) and 11 touchdowns (7 interceptions). He also set a new school record for rushing yards by a Quarterback in a single season, rushing for 665 yards (4.7 ypc) and 7 touchdowns.
