Former NC State Defensive Tackle DJ Jackson is transferring to Liberty.

Jackson was a Redshirt Sophomore this season, so he has two years of eligibility remaining.

Even though this was Jackson’s 3rd year in Raleigh, this was his first year seeing the field due to injuries.

After his Junior season at Sumter High School (Sumter, SC), Jackson tore his ACL the following Summer. Then, in 2022, Jackson tore his achilles in his first run of Spring Practice, leading him to miss the entire season. In 2023, halfway through Spring Practice, he ended up tearing his other ACL, leading him to miss the entire season.

Jackson played 131 snaps in 8 games for the Wolfpack this season, recording 9 tackles, 1 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He was the 2nd string Nose Tackle behind Brandon Cleveland this year.

Jackson was a 3-Star prospect in NC State’s 2022 recruiting class out of Sumter High School in Sumter, South Carolina. Rivals ranked him as the #13 player in South Carolina in 2022.

Jackson is the 1 of 11 NC State players to enter the Transfer Portal this year.
