Former Wolfpacker and Current Phillies star Trea Turner has his own Netflix Special

If you haven’t watched ‘The Turnaround’ on Netflix and you’re a Wolfpack fan, then lemme go ahead and suggest it. It’s not like it’s brand new or anything, but I just actually came across it last night and figured others in Wolfpack Nation may have missed it.

I’m not a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, but I am a fan of NC State, baseball, and sports documentaries, and this was a pretty cool story I wasn’t aware of.

The story focuses on the struggles of Phillies SS and former NC State star, Trea Turner during the 2023 season. Turner was likely feeling the pressure of signing a $300 million deal the year prior. His signing was supposed to signify a new era for Phillies baseball, where he and Bryce Harper would team up to bring the City of Brotherly Love back to baseball dominance.

However, Turner was stuck in a horrible slump, in fact it was so bad that he ranked as one of the 15 worst hitters in MLB.

Turner, who is a 3 time All-Star, just couldn’t get it going. The boos began to rain down on him as the slump deepened.

Then one day, a die-hard Phillie fan with a decent social media following, made a call to the fanbase.

Instead of booing, Trea Turner, next time he comes up, let’s give him a standing ovation and let’s keep giving him a standing ovation until he breaks out of this thing…

What happens next is why you need to check out this short documentary…I won’t spoil it, but it’s worth a watch.
