Former NC State Center Lizzy Williamson (6’5″) is transferring to Oregon St.

Williamson transferred to NC State from Southern Utah two years ago. In the 2023-24 season, she saw limited action, averaging 4.9 minutes across 19 games. This season, she participated in the first five games but missed the remainder of the year after undergoing surgery.

Williamson redshirted her first collegiate season at Utah State before spending the next three years at Southern Utah. After playing in only six games in 2020-21, she emerged as one of the conference’s top players the following year, averaging 9.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks. In 2022-23, she averaged a double-double of 9.6 points and 10 rebounds, along with 2.3 blocks per game. Williamson led the Western Athletic Conference in rebounds and blocks, earning WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.

Williamson’s first two years did not count towards her NCAA eligibility, with the first being a redshirt year and the second affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Technically, she has played four years on the court, but received a medical hardship redshirt this year, after having her season cut short due to a season ending injury. This will be her 7th year of college basketball.

All three of the Wolfpack Women’s Basketball players that entered the Transfer Portal this offseason have found a new home:

Center Lizzy Williamson – Oregon St.

Center Caitlin Weimar – UVA

Guard Laci Steele – Wisconsin
