According to Mitchell Northam of SB Nation, the NC State Women’s Basketball team is working on scheduling an exhibition game against Maryland prior to the start of the 2025–26 season.

Northam reports that this is intended to be part of a double-header with the Wolfpack Men’s Basketball team, which is finalizing an agreement to play South Carolina in an exhibition game. He reports that both games would be played in Greensboro.

The Terrapins were one of the best teams in college basketball last season, finishing the year with an overall record of 25–8 and a 13–5 mark in the Big Ten. Maryland ultimately lost to South Carolina in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament and finished ranked 12th in the final AP Poll.

ESPN also has the Terrapins ranked 12th in its Way-Too-Early 2025–26 Preseason Top 25, released at the end of April.
