4-Star 2026 Small Forward Cole Cloer (6’8″/195) is trending towards NC State.

Three 247Sports Experts have submitted Crystal Ball Predictions for Cloer to run with the Wolfpack. Cory Smith of PackPride and John Watson of The Devils Den (Duke) have submitted projections for Cloer to commit to NC State, as well as 247Sports Staff Projections, which is 95.65% accurate all-time.

Cloer released his Top-5 schools on September 23rd, which included NC State, UCONN, Alabama, UNC and Florida.

According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, Cloer has cancelled his Official Visit scheduled with UNC this upcoming weekend.

Cloer previously took Official Visits to NC State (1st visit), UCONN, Florida and Alabama.

Prior to transferring to IMG Academy for his senior season, Cole Cloer played for Caldwell Academy in Greensboro, and before that, he played just down the road at Orange County High School.

Cloer is a consensus four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, with ESPN ranking him as the No. 25 overall player nationally and the No. 10 small forward. Before his move to IMG Academy, Cloer was the No. 1 ranked player in the state of North Carolina. He now holds the No. 5 ranking in the state of Florida.

The buzz as of late has been that this is a race between NC State and UCONN.

With Cloer cancelling his final scheduled Official Visit, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a decision announced sooner than later.
