The son of legendary Quarterback Philip Rivers, Gunner Rivers (6’3″/205), will be taking an unofficial visit for the second time to NC State on November 29th, to watch the Wolfpack host rival UNC.

Rivers and his father took their first unofficial visit to NC State back on March 29th, taking in a Spring Practice.

The Alabama standout is a consensus 4-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting class. 247Sports ranks Rivers as the #42 overall player nationally in 2027, the #6 Quarterback and the #1 player in the state of Alabama.

Philip is the head coach at St. Michael’s Catholic (Fairhope, AL), where Gunner has led the Cardinals to a 7-0 record this season, putting up video game numbers. Through 7 games, Gunner has completed 71% of his passes for 1,595 yards and 29 touchdowns, with only 1 interception. As a Sophomore last year, Gunner completed 63% of his passes for 3,947 yards and 36 touchdowns, with 6 interceptions.

Rivers picked up an offer from NC State back on May 15th, 2024. He also holds offers from Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Boston College, South Carolina and Missouri.

Philip made his debut as the head coach of the Cardinals in 2021, serving as the head coach for his son in every varsity game. Gunner has been the starter at St. Michael’s Catholic since his Freshman year, after taking varsity snaps as an 8th grader in 2022.
