Just yesterday, we took a look at NC State’s marketing and talked about how it’s really taken a step up over the past few years. Today, we learn that they aren’t stopping there.
The N&O’s Chip Alexander tweeted yesterday that NC State basketball’s homecourt (The PNC Arena) will be getting a 3-D projection systme.
Centennial Authority authorizes spending up to $2.4 million on a 3D projection system for PNC Arena, and up to $930,000 on a theatrical lighting system. Won’t be ready for Hurricanes, NC State openers but could be operational in December.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t know this was an option. I guess I’ve seen it at the olympics and the Super Bowl, but I wasn’t aware that professional arenas around the country were already getting these.
Here is a video of what the experience might be like…
According to Alexander, this system could be in place by ACC play. Count me in as someone who’s sort of excited to see what’s possible with this system.
