NC State head coach Dave Doeren shared today at his weekly press conference that Senior Free Safety Jakeen Harris will miss the remainder of the season due to tearing his pec in the third play of the 1st game of the year against UCONN.

Redshirt Sophomore Sean Brown, who the Wolfpack coaching staff is very high on, was the next man up.

The Wolfpack secondary is a little dinged up through two games, especially at the Safety position. Rakeim Ashford, listed as the third string Strong Safety behind Devan Boykin and Bishop Fitzgerald respectively, has also been out since his scary “whiplash” injury he suffered in the season opener.

Doeren said today that Ashford should return this week or the next.

Even though Jakeen Harris has been on the team since 2019, he still maintains another year of eligibility for 2024, because he played less than 4 games this season.
