The 9th-ranked NC State Women’s Basketball team controls their own destiny heading into their final game of the 2024-25 regular season today at SMU (Noon/ACC Network). The Wolfpack and Notre Dame share the same record of 15-2 at the top of the ACC standings, but NC State holds the tiebreaker against the Fighting Irish after beating them in double overtime.

This means that if NC State defeats the Mustangs, they will win the ACC Regular Season Title and secure the #1 seed in the 2025 ACC Tournament.

The Irish, ranked 3rd nationally, face a top-25 matchup today, playing at home against #25 Louisville.

If NC State wins the ACC Regular Season Title today, it will mark only the second time the Wolfpack has done so under Head Coach Wes Moore. In 2022, NC State was the ACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions. Moore has also led the Wolfpack to three ACC Tournament Championships (2020, 2021, 2022).

An ACC Regular Season Championship would give NC State their 7th in school history (1977-78, 1979-80, 1982-83, 1984-85, 1989-90, 2021-22), which would be tied for 3rd in conference history.

Current ACC Rankings for Most ACC Regular Season Championships

5. Maryland – 5
6. UNC – 4
6. Louisville – 4
8. FSU – 2
