Former NC State All-American Forward T.J. Warren Still Belongs in the NBA

This year marked the first time Warren wasn’t on an NBA roster since being drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft.

Warren spent the entirety of the 2024–25 season playing for the Westchester Knicks in the G League. He averaged 22.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, earning a spot on the All-NBA G League Third Team. Warren ranked 9th in the league in points per game.

On the year, Warren shot 46.4% from the field and 36.2% from three-point range for Westchester.

Warren will be 32 years old heading into the 2025–26 basketball season, but it’s clear that the former ACC Player of the Year still has plenty left in the tank.

T.J. only played two years for the Wolfpack, but his body of work in that span ranks among the best first two years by any player in school history.

In Year 1, Warren made the ACC All-Freshman Team, averaging 12.1 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 62.2% from the field.

Warren’s sophomore season was one of the best single seasons in NC State history, becoming just the third Wolfpack player to earn ACC Player of the Year honors. He also earned consensus 2nd Team All-American honors. In 2013–14, T.J. averaged 24.9 points per game—the fifth-highest single-season average in school history. His 871 points that season remain the most in a single season by an NC State player. Warren’s 34 double-doubles and 31 20-point games that year are also school single-season records.
