WATCH: Paul McNeil Jr.’s Highlights from NC State’s Win Over NCCU

There was significant buzz surrounding NC State Sophomore Guard Paul McNeil Jr. heading into this season. His 24-point outburst last season as a Freshman against Wake Forest gave everyone a taste of his talent and abilities.

Wolfpack coaches and players hyped up McNeil Jr.’s shooting ability all offseason.

The hype went up a notch when he hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer in NC State’s lone exhibition game against South Carolina.

When the lights turned on in the Lenovo, and the seats were filled on Monday night for the first regular season game, McNeil Jr. proved in quick fashion that the hype is real.

He finished with 16 points (2nd on the team) on 5 of 10 shooting from the field, making 4 of his 7 three-point attempts.
