Former NC State Linebacker Wyatt Wright is transferring to Arkansas State.

Ironically Wright will have a similar mascot next season, playing for the Wolves.

Wright played his first two seasons in the Junior College ranks at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. In 2023, he led MGCCC in tackles with 82 tackles in 10 games. He also had 4 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 1 pass breakup. In his Freshman season, Wright played for Fresno City College, and had 14 tackles in 7 games.

Last year he chose NC State over offers from UCF, Memphis, Houston, Arizona St. and others.

ON3 ranked Wright as the #29 overall JUCO player in the 2024 class, and the #2 Linebacker.

Since Wright only played in 1 game this season, this year counted as a Redshirt Season, giving him 2 more years of eligibility.

Wright is 1 of 16 NC State players to enter the Transfer Portal this year.
