NC State Running Back Jordan Poole (6’0″/236) is entering the Transfer Portal for his final year of eligibility.

Poole came to Raleigh as a Linebacker, spending the first 2.5 seasons at the position. Midway through the 2023 season, he moved to Running Back after the bye week.

After playing 54 snaps at Running Back in 2023, Poole only played 5 snaps this Fall. He never registered a carry, but manage to turn his one career reception into a touchdown in 2023.

In 2022 and 2023, Poole saw 22 combined snaps at Linebacker over the two seasons.

Coming out of West Stanly High School in Oakboro, North Carolina, Poole was 1 of the highest ranked recruits to commit to NC State since recruiting databases became a thing around 2000. 247Sports ranked him as the #73 overall player nationally in the 2021 recruiting class. That’s the 17th highest ranked player to commit to NC State since the rankings began.

It’s sad to see that it never panned out for Poole at either of the positions he played for the Wolfpack, but he’s been nothing but selfless since arriving in Raleigh. I hope he finds a home where he can see the field in 2025.

Poole is 1 of 17 NC State players to enter the Transfer Portal this year.
