NC State Baseball has had 15 players enter the Transfer Portal this offseason. I’ve already reported that 3rd Baseman Ryan Jaros committed to Rutgers and Infielder Ryder Woodson committed to Mississippi St.

A couple of other players have found new schools.

Infielder Trenton Lyons has committed to Kennesaw St.

Lyons battled injuries in his Sophomore season in Raleigh this year, accumulating 4 hits in 16 at-bats in 7 games (5 starts). He transferred to NC State last offseason from Ole Miss, where he hit .256 in 22 games (7 starts).

He has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Outfielder Jet Gilliam has committed to Utah.

Gilliam played in 35 games for the Wolfpack in his Sophomore season this year, starting in 7. He posted a .276 batting average with 1 Home Run, 3 Doubles and 6 walks. Last offseason, Gilliam transferred to Raleigh from College of Southern Nevada (JUCO).

He has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Pitcher Jacob Dienes has committed to Memphis.

Dienes spent the past 4 years as a member of the Wolfpack. After making 3 appearances as a True Freshman (3 innings), he redshirted the 2023 season. Over the past two seasons, Dienes only made 1 appearance each year.

In his career at NC State, Dienes gave up 3 earned runs in 3 innings, striking out 3, while walking 8.

Dienes has 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Pitcher Eli Pillsbury has committed to Kennesaw St.

Pillsbury transferred to NC State from the JUCO ranks last offseason, playing his first two seasons at John A. Logan College.

He didn’t make a single appearance for the Wolfpack this year.

Coming out of high school, Perfect Game ranked him as the 2nd-best left-handed pitcher and 34th-best prospect overall in the state of Indiana.

Pillsbury has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
