UNC Cornerback Ty White is Transferring to NC State

UNC cornerback Ty White (5’10”, 185) is transferring to NC State.

Rivals rated White as a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, ranking him as the No. 86 overall player nationally, the No. 7 cornerback, and the No. 12 player in the state of Georgia.

In 2024, White played in eight games as a true freshman, recording three tackles. He played almost exclusively on special teams, logging just one snap at cornerback.

This season, White played 36 total snaps in four games at cornerback, finishing with three tackles. By appearing in only four games, he was able to preserve his redshirt.

White has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

The Georgia native is the 2nd player to transfer from UNC to NC State this offseason, joining Running Back Davion Gause.

White becomes the 12th transfer commitment for NC State this cycle, joining Texas Offensive Lineman Daniel Cruz, EDGE Harvey Dyson, Alcorn St. Wide Receiver Tyran Warren, UNC Running Back Davion Gause, Montana St. Tight End Hunter Provience, Miami Wide Receiver Chance Robinson, Penn State Safety King MackGeorgia Cornerback Ondre EvansArkansas State punter Jackson WallerECU offensive lineman Jimarion McCrimon and Buffalo wide receiver Victor Snow.
